Ondo Finance is putting BlackRock's own investing playbook onchain. The company launched Ondo Intelligent Portfolios on September 24, a set of three tokens that each hold an entire basket of tokenized stocks and ETFs built to a strategy BlackRock designed specifically for Ondo, marking the first time the asset manager's portfolio construction has been made directly available to onchain investors.

The three products, Ondo High Income, Ondo Diversified Growth and Ondo High Growth, trade under the tickers BLKHIon, BLKDIGon and BLKGRWon. Each is a single token representing a full basket rather than one asset, with target weights set at launch and rebalanced on a fixed schedule so holders never have to manually trade the underlying pieces themselves. The underlying exposure comes from Ondo Stocks, tokenized equities and ETFs the company says are backed one-to-one by real securities rather than synthetic derivatives.

Access is deliberately global but not universal. The portfolios are open to investors outside the United States on a 24/7 basis, a structure that lets Ondo sidestep US securities rules that would otherwise apply to a domestically marketed fund wrapper while still reaching the much larger pool of investors elsewhere who want exposure to a professionally built basket without opening a traditional brokerage account. The tokens are also transferable, meaning holders can move them between supported wallets and plug them into other onchain applications rather than being locked into a single platform the way a conventional mutual fund unit would be.

The launch lands in the middle of a genuinely large shift in how BlackRock treats its own products. Its BUIDL money market fund became tradeable on Uniswap through UniswapX earlier this year, and a similar pattern of large, historically conservative institutions piloting tokenized products has been playing out across traditional finance in 2026 as banks and asset managers test whether blockchain rails can settle faster and reach more investors than existing infrastructure.

The market these portfolios are entering has grown fast enough to justify the experiment. The tokenized real-world asset sector's tradable onchain value roughly tripled over the past year to more than $33 billion, with tokenized government debt alone accounting for over 60% of that figure. McKinsey has projected the broader market for tokenized financial assets could reach $2 trillion by 2030, while other estimates from Boston Consulting Group and ADDX run as high as $16 trillion over the same horizon, figures wide enough apart to show just how early and unsettled this market still is even as the dollar amounts involved keep climbing.

Ondo isn't the only firm chasing that opportunity alongside a household-name partner. MoonPay's own move into tokenization through its planned acquisition of North Capital and 21Shares listing Europe's first Zcash ETP on Euronext both point to the same underlying trend: traditional finance and crypto-native firms converging on wrapping familiar financial products, whether an ETF, an ETP or a model portfolio, in a form that trades onchain around the clock instead of during exchange hours.

For BlackRock, the arrangement extends a strategy that started with BUIDL: rather than building its own blockchain distribution, the asset manager licenses its portfolio construction expertise to a crypto-native partner that already has the onchain infrastructure and non-US distribution in place. For Ondo, landing BlackRock's name on three flagship products gives the tokenization pitch a credibility that a purely crypto-native fund manager would struggle to match on its own.

FAQ

Can US investors buy Ondo Intelligent Portfolios?
No. The three portfolios are only available to investors outside the United States, consistent with how Ondo has structured its other tokenized products to work around US securities restrictions.

What's actually inside each portfolio token?
Each token represents a basket of Ondo Stocks, tokenized equities and ETFs backed one-to-one by real securities, allocated according to a strategy BlackRock designed for that specific portfolio (High Income, Diversified Growth, or High Growth).

How is this different from just buying the underlying ETFs?
Holding the token means one onchain asset automatically tracks and rebalances toward the full basket, and it can be transferred between wallets and used in other onchain applications the way a traditional ETF share cannot.

Has BlackRock done anything like this before?
Yes. BlackRock's BUIDL money market fund became tradeable on Uniswap via UniswapX earlier in 2026, and this launch extends that same onchain distribution approach to a broader set of portfolio strategies.
